China has given the green light for the first batch of L3-level conditionally autonomous vehicle models to hit the roads. Among them is BAIC's Arcfox Alpha S, which is outfitted with Huawei's Qiankun Advanced Driving Assistance System. In a reply to investors, BAIC BluePark shared that the Arcfox Alpha S (L3 version) comes equipped with 34 high-performance sensors. These sensors ensure full-link safety redundancy backup, a critical feature for autonomous driving. The vehicle has also undergone rigorous multi-dimensional saturation testing to guarantee its reliability. Looking ahead, BAIC BluePark intends to keep rolling out L3 models across its mid-to-high-end brands, with some products already in the development pipeline. The document further elaborates on the distinction between testing licenses and access permits. It highlights that BAIC BluePark, being one of the pioneering enterprises to secure an access permit, is now duly authorized for market sales and road operation.
