On July 14, preliminary data from IDC's report revealed that smartphone shipments in the Chinese market reached approximately 66.01 million units in the second quarter of 2026, marking a 4.3% year-on-year decline and extending the slump to five consecutive quarters. Since late March, rising costs for core components like memory have prompted Android manufacturers to either increase product prices or adjust configurations, dampening consumers' willingness to upgrade their devices. Meanwhile, the stimulative effect of national subsidy policies on demand has gradually weakened. As a result, overall smartphone sales in China dropped by nearly 15% year-on-year during this year's "618" shopping festival, highlighting evident short-term demand fatigue.
