According to the official website of the Ministry of Commerce, on November 26, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao engaged in a video conference with Maroš Šefčovič, the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security. During this meeting, they delved into an in-depth exchange of perspectives on various economic and trade matters, with a particular focus on Nexperia. Minister Wang Wentao emphasized that the core reason and liability for the disruption in the global semiconductor supply chain rest with the Dutch authorities. The Chinese government has consistently maintained a responsible stance, promptly implementing effective measures to uphold and reinstate the stability of the global semiconductor supply chain.
Recently, the Dutch side declared a halt to the pertinent administrative directive, signifying a constructive stride towards the appropriate resolution of the issue. Nevertheless, the improper administrative and judicial intrusions by the Dutch side targeting enterprises have not been rescinded yet. Consequently, the global semiconductor supply chain has not entirely reverted to its normal state and continues to confront substantial uncertainties. China expresses the hope that the EU will assume a proactive role and encourage the Dutch government to promptly propose constructive solutions, while also establishing favorable conditions for internal consultations among enterprises.
