Meta has installed tracking software called the 'Model Capability Initiative' on its US employees' computers. This software captures mouse movements, clicks, keystrokes, and takes screen snapshots to train artificial intelligence models. It is part of Meta's plan to build AI agents capable of autonomously performing work tasks, aiming to address model deficiencies and enable employees to contribute to model optimization through their daily work. A Meta spokesperson stated that the data is solely used for model training and that security measures have been implemented to protect sensitive content. Currently, Meta is advancing a transformation towards AI-driven workflows, with its CEO stating that this will enhance operational efficiency. Meanwhile, Meta plans to lay off 10% of its global workforce starting May 20 and is considering further layoffs in the future.
