As security concerns over Anthropic PBC's latest AI model, Mythos, spread to Asia, Singapore's financial regulator has demanded that banks strengthen their cybersecurity defenses. A spokesperson for the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) stated that the authority is collaborating with cybersecurity agencies to enhance the defensive capabilities of critical infrastructure operators, including banks. Mythos has been deemed 'too dangerous' by Anthropic for widespread release. The MAS emphasized that financial institutions must reinforce their security defenses, proactively patch vulnerabilities, and improve cybersecurity practices, including timely security updates.
