On February 24, 2026, ByteDance unveiled a revamped pricing strategy for its AI code development tool, Trae. The tool transitioned from its initial per-use billing system to a more flexible Token-based billing approach. Alongside this change, Trae introduced five distinct subscription tiers: Free, Lite, Pro, Pro+, and Ultra. The pricing details for each plan, encompassing monthly, single-month, and annual options, are outlined below: The Free plan remains at $0 across all billing cycles; the Lite plan is priced at $3 monthly, $4.5 for a single month, and $27 annually; the Pro plan costs $10 monthly, $15 for a single month, and $90 annually; the Pro+ plan is set at $30 monthly, $45 for a single month, and $270 annually; while the Ultra plan demands $100 monthly, $150 for a single month, and $900 annually.

Under the new Token-based pricing framework, AI interactions are billed according to the precise number of Tokens utilized. Meanwhile, services like code completion are allocated varying Token allowances, contingent on the chosen subscription plan. To facilitate payments, Trae accommodates multiple payment methods, including Alipay, WeChat Pay (excluding the U.S.), and a range of international credit cards.
