On May 8, the U.S. stock market closed with positive returns across the board. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 0.62%, the Nasdaq Composite surged 1.07%, and the S&P 500 rose 0.58%. Among the tech giants, Tesla emerged as the top performer, soaring over 3%, while Microsoft, Amazon, and Google also registered gains exceeding 1%. Apple, NVIDIA, and Meta experienced modest upticks. Conversely, Arm's share price declined sharply, dropping more than 6%.
Turning to popular Chinese concept stocks, NIO and Li Auto both enjoyed gains of over 3%. XPeng Motors and Alibaba followed suit with increases of more than 2%. Bilibili, Weibo, iQIYI, and Baidu each reported gains of over 1%, while JD.com's share price also posted a slight increase. In contrast, Tencent Music's share price experienced a minor decline.
