Recently, Xiaomi Automobile has discreetly updated the ordering page for its latest SU7 model, shifting the terminology from "Intelligent Driving" to "Assisted Driving". This adjustment includes renaming "Xiaomi Intelligent Driving Pro" to "Xiaomi Assisted Driving Pro" and "Xiaomi Intelligent Driving Max" to "Xiaomi End-to-End Assisted Driving". This change could be in response to recent promotional guidelines issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) regarding intelligent driving technology. The MIIT has expressly mandated that automakers refrain from overstating their claims and clearly delineate the functional limits of their systems, specifically prohibiting the use of ambiguous terms like "Autonomous Driving". Notably, an incident involving a Xiaomi SU7 on a highway in Anhui brought to light the issue of drivers placing undue trust in assisted driving systems. Furthermore, Huawei Kunlun Intelligent Driving, in partnership with 11 automakers, has launched a safety initiative focused on intelligent assisted driving. The aim of this initiative is to enhance technological transparency, bolster user education, and foster the collective development of industry standards.
