The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a recall of 24,655 vehicles by Ford Motor Company in the United States. The recall is necessitated due to two critical issues: Firstly, when these vehicles are shifted into park (P gear) without engaging the handbrake, a faulty parking system may allow the vehicle to roll away unexpectedly. Secondly, while driving, the engine may stall, resulting in a sudden loss of power and propulsion, which could potentially lead to collisions. Both of these scenarios significantly enhance the risk of accidents.
