According to research conducted by the German Automobile Club (ADAC), electric vehicles (EVs) are steadily outpacing traditional gasoline vehicles in terms of reliability. Between 2020 and 2022, the incidence of breakdowns per thousand EVs stood at 4.2, markedly lower than the 10.4 figure recorded for gasoline vehicles. Despite a slightly higher incidence of tire failures among EVs, their electrical and drive systems are inherently simpler, featuring fewer components susceptible to failure. Current data underscores a trend towards enhanced EV reliability, though their long-term performance continues to warrant monitoring.
