SAIC IM Motors has officially unveiled its flagship large extended-range SUV, the IM LS9 Hyper, priced at RMB 319,800 and RMB 349,800 for its two variants. This vehicle showcases comprehensive innovations in its traditional mechanical framework, achieving enhancements across three key dimensions: handling, energy efficiency, and intelligence. As the inaugural mass-produced model adhering to the new national standard for steer-by-wire systems, the IM LS9 Hyper features full steer-by-wire four-wheel steering as standard across all models. It boasts a cutting-edge core configuration, including a full-domain 800V system, high-resolution LiDAR, and a high-computing-power platform. Emphasizing the philosophy of being "ideal for business, family, and personal use," it asserts to deliver a flagship-level experience worth RMB 500,000 at a price point of RMB 300,000.

On the cusp of its launch, dealers in Yunnan and Zhuhai, both under the same investor, faced financial challenges, involving schemes like a "RMB 50,000 rebate for delayed delivery" that impacted customers. IM Motors has pledged to take responsibility for confirming orders but requires time for thorough verification. In the near term, the company will not transition to a direct-sales model but will instead fortify its dealer selection process and oversight mechanisms.

An executive from IM Motors forecasted that the ultimate form of automobiles would materialize within the next 2-3 years, with the automotive industry poised to break free from homogeneous competition and embrace a new era of development. To align with technological advancements, IM Motors has undergone organizational restructuring, including the dissolution of its chassis department and the creation of new departments such as the "Vehicle Motion and Intelligence Department."

Furthermore, IM Motors plans to introduce multiple new models in the latter half of the year and expand its footprint into overseas markets. Regarding sales projections, IM Motors acknowledged that attaining monthly sales of 5,000 units for the LS9 Hyper would be a formidable task, given the intense competition in the large six-seater market and the prevailing economic conditions.
