Apple is set to unveil a 'Real-Time Playback' capability, powered by the S11 chip, for the upcoming Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 models. With this new feature, users can simply double-tap the Digital Crown to access a textual summary of the last 15 seconds of spoken content. Activation of this function necessitates deliberate user interaction, with all computational tasks carried out within a secure, segregated environment on the device itself. Following processing, the audio data is promptly erased, and any text not saved will also be irretrievably lost roughly 30 seconds after the screen's backlight dims. Users will receive auditory and visual cues, through a prompt sound and screen animation, to indicate when the feature is in use.
To utilize this function, users must pair their Apple Watch with an iPhone 16 or a later model, with both Apple Intelligence and Siri AI activated. Additionally, this feature is not accessible to users under the age of 13. Apple has scheduled the rollout of this innovative feature for later this year, and it will not be part of the initial releases of watchOS 27 and iOS 27.
