On September 1, a number of OPPO stores across Shanghai disclosed that OPPO is set to raise the prices of several of its models this month. The affected models include the OPPO Reno16 series and the OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro series, with price increases ranging from RMB 300 to RMB 500. Some stores have already updated their price tags, and notably, the OPPO Reno16 model has been rebranded as the OPPO Reno16t. The store located in Xuhui District, Shanghai, confirmed that they have been notified of the upcoming price hike and are currently awaiting formal instructions from the company. They anticipate implementing the new prices on September 7. Another store mentioned that the original price of the OPPO Reno16 (12GB+256GB) starts at RMB 3,499. Shanghai residents can avail themselves of RMB 500 in government subsidies and an additional RMB 300 in manufacturer subsidies. Furthermore, the configuration of the model remains unchanged following the renaming.

Mobile phone manufacturers have been compelled to adjust their prices multiple times this year due to escalating costs of storage chips. In March, OPPO took the initiative to raise its prices. Subsequently, Apple followed suit by increasing the prices of its Mac and iPad products in June, and then raising prices for products such as iPhones in the Japanese market in July. On September 1, other prominent brands including Huawei, Xiaomi, and Honor also implemented price hikes, with increases ranging from RMB 200 to RMB 1,000. Industry experts have noted that this round of price increases could potentially become a widespread trend within the industry. As of the time of reporting, OPPO had not yet issued a response regarding the price increase.
