Apple has recently rolled out the fourth public beta of iOS 26.6, along with updates for its other systems, to public beta testers. This update is centered on bolstering both system functionality and security. A notable addition is a reminder feature that activates when the user reaches the maximum limit for blocked contacts. Specifically, once the cumulative number of blocked contacts hits 20,000, the system will automatically halt any further blocking actions and prompt the user to remove some of the already blocked contacts to free up space. Additionally, the system now includes a duplicate contact detection feature, aiding users in tidying up redundant contact entries. From a security standpoint, Apple Maps has implemented a new protection mechanism leveraging the Blastdoor framework. This mechanism is engineered to thwart zero-click attacks and safeguard user privacy. Furthermore, this version addresses security flaws in the private browsing mode and enhances performance for older device models, ensuring a smoother user experience across the board.
