On April 30th, reports emerged indicating that two mandatory national standards concerning civilian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are slated for official implementation starting May 1st. These standards include the Requirements for Real-Name Registration and Activation of Civilian Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and the Operational Identification Specifications for Civilian Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems.
The Requirements for Real-Name Registration and Activation of Civilian Unmanned Aerial Vehicles outlines the specific procedures for the real-name registration and activation of drones. It explicitly states that drones must not possess flight capabilities prior to activation or after deactivation. For newly manufactured drones, compliance with these new national standards is mandatory from May 1st onwards. Meanwhile, existing drones that have already been sold will be required to adhere to these standards starting from the 13th month following the implementation date.
Furthermore, the Operational Identification Specifications for Civilian Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems mandates that drones must actively transmit information such as their identity, location, speed, and status to regulatory authorities upon power-on and throughout their flight.
