Apple is accelerating the development of AI smart glasses, codenamed "N50," aiming to challenge Meta Ray-Ban's market position. These glasses deeply integrate Apple Intelligence, support gesture-based interaction, and are equipped with two built-in cameras. The first-generation product abandons complex features like 3D cameras, adopting a "screen-less" design to reduce power consumption. Apple has applied the gesture navigation technology from Vision Pro to create a closed-loop interaction system centered around AI vision. These glasses will serve as an AI companion for the iPhone, with Tim Cook listing this project as a strategic priority. Currently, Apple is testing lightweight material frames, with an expected release as early as the Christmas holiday season in 2026, though it may be postponed to 2027. This move signifies Apple's expansion of its productivity ecosystem into spatial awareness.
