A-share Markets Open with Mixed Performance, CATL Rises Over 1%

On July 31, the three major A-share indexes commenced trading with diverging performances. The Shanghai Composite Index kicked off 0.3% lower, whereas the Shenzhen Component Index started 0.05% higher, and the ChiNext Index opened 0.65% up. Among sectors, gains were predominantly seen in catering and tourism, culture and media, as well as electrical engineering and the power grid. Specifically, Tibet Tourism reached its daily trading limit, Xingfu Blue Ocean surged over 6%, Hopewind advanced more than 2%, and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) appreciated by over 1%. Conversely, the precious metals, education, and retail sectors led the declines, with Aibaby dropping over 4%, Northern Rare Earth falling more than 2%, and Jingyeda slipping over 1%.
