In an updated prospectus, Unitree Robotics provided a detailed account of the impact and potential risks that the FCC's latest equipment control policy poses to its business operations. The FCC has now brought high-end robots produced by overseas companies under its regulatory purview, with the new regulations mainly targeting brand-new models from foreign manufacturers. Innovative equipment that has not obtained exemptions or special approvals will encounter significant hurdles in entering the U.S. market.
Several humanoid and quadrupedal robots currently being sold by Unitree Robotics have already successfully passed FCC certification, allowing them to be sold normally in the United States. However, the company's new generation of robot products, which are currently in development, may not be able to enter the U.S. market if they fail to secure special exemptions or access permits. Should policies become even more stringent in the future, currently available models might also encounter obstacles in sales.
Furthermore, overseas revenue constitutes over 40% of the company's total revenue, with the United States being one of its key overseas markets. If the U.S. persists in implementing trade measures that are unfavorable to China, it could have a detrimental effect on the company's overseas business growth and overall revenue.
