On July 31, Reuters reported that the European Commission announced this Friday, accusing Temu, the online retail platform owned by Pinduoduo, of not actively cooperating as mandated during a surprise enforcement inspection carried out late last year. Earlier, on May 28, 2026, the European Commission had already fined Temu €200 million under the Digital Services Act (DSA) for failing to effectively curb the sale of illegal goods on its platform, thereby breaching DSA regulations. The EU has required Temu to submit a rectification plan by August 28; otherwise, it may face additional penalties.
