According to UBS's most recent report, propelled by the soaring demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and subsequent adjustments in memory production capacities, the contract price hikes for DRAM and NAND flash memory in the fourth quarter of 2025 have surpassed initial projections. In detail, the contract price for DDR is forecasted to climb by 35% on a quarter-over-quarter basis, whereas the contract price for NAND flash memory is anticipated to ascend by 20% over the same period. The scarcity of NAND is projected to endure until the third quarter of 2026, and the DRAM supply deficit may extend into the first quarter of 2027. The rapid escalation in memory prices has set off a ripple effect throughout the industry chain, placing downstream consumer electronics manufacturers under significant cost strain. The industry is poised to sustain its robust growth trajectory through to 2027.
