Based on the market report for the third quarter of 2025, as published by Jon Peddie Research, global shipments of PC GPUs hit 76.6 million units. This figure reflects a 2.5% sequential rise and a 4% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, PC CPU shipments climbed to 65 million units, marking a 2.2% sequential growth, albeit with a 2.2% year-on-year decrease.
The overall GPU adoption rate on PC platforms soared to 120%, up by 2.9 percentage points compared to the previous quarter. When it comes to market share, AMD witnessed a 0.9% increase in its share of the PC GPU market. In contrast, Intel and NVIDIA experienced declines of 0.8% and 0.1%, respectively.
In the client CPU market, the ratio remained consistent with 30% being desktop CPUs and 70% being mobile CPUs. During the same timeframe, global data center GPU shipments skyrocketed by 145% sequentially. This remarkable surge underscores the structural uplift in the GPU market, which is being propelled by the soaring demand for AI computing.
