The technology - licensing firm Adeia has recently initiated two legal actions against AMD in a federal court located in Texas, the United States. The company alleges that AMD has violated ten patents pertaining to semiconductor innovations.
According to the lawsuits, a variety of processors employed by AMD in desktops, laptops, and servers are in breach of Adeia's patents. These patents are focused on enhancing semiconductor manufacturing processes. Specifically, the infringements involve seven patents related to hybrid - bonding technology and three patents concerning advanced process node technology.
Adeia has clarified that this legal step is intended to safeguard its intellectual property and the substantial investments it has made in fundamental semiconductor technology. The company is demanding that AMD immediately stop utilizing the relevant patented technologies and pay a compensation amount that has not been disclosed.
