On October 2, sources with inside knowledge revealed that AI firm Anthropic is expediting its plans to go public. After previously delaying its initial public offering (IPO), the company now aims to launch its IPO as early as mid-November. It is anticipated that Anthropic will officially kick off its IPO roadshow during the week of November 9, with the intention of commencing trading prior to Thanksgiving on November 26. The company is projected to finalize its listing by the end of this year at the latest, although the exact timeline remains subject to change.
Despite a recent spate of AI safety incidents and growing market concerns over the risks associated with AI models, investor interest in Anthropic has not waned significantly. Some analysts believe that a reasonable valuation for the company would fall between $1.8 trillion and $2 trillion. There are also expectations that the scale of Anthropic's IPO could rival or even surpass the previous record set by SpaceX.
Financial projections indicate that Anthropic's revenue for 2025 is expected to soar to approximately $4.6 billion, a substantial increase from the $386 million reported in 2024. However, the company's net loss for the full year is projected to approach $42 billion, with over $34 billion attributed to changes in the fair value of liabilities and an operating loss exceeding $8 billion.
