Alexander Karp, co-founder and CEO of data analytics company Palantir, recently publicly criticized leading AI companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic in an interview. He pointed out that these companies not only charge users hefty fees for token consumption but are also suspected of stealing customer data. Karp stated that while these AI companies charge high fees, they simultaneously steal valuable business data from customers through their services, including business processes, data associations, and more. Multiple U.S. companies have expressed extreme dissatisfaction, arguing that while they are paying substantial AI fees, they also have to bear the risk of AI companies stealing their critical business data. Karp described this business model as 'double-dipping': selling the usage rights of large language models while leveraging customer data to improve the models, leaving customers vulnerable to the threat of having their core business processes replicated or even replaced.
