The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has requested Tesla to furnish detailed information regarding its forthcoming paid Robotaxi service. This request aims to evaluate the safety of Tesla's full self-driving technology, particularly in adverse weather conditions. This development comes amidst ongoing investigations by the agency into Tesla-related accidents since October. Tesla's Robotaxi service is poised to debut in Austin, Texas, in June 2025, enabling vehicle owners to offer rides using autonomous driving technology when their vehicles are not in personal use.
