On April 16th, the First Department of Equipment Industry within the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology convened a meeting to bolster the management framework for intelligent connected vehicle product access and over-the-air (OTA) software upgrades. The event drew the participation of approximately 60 delegates from the Ministry's Equipment Industry Development Center and leading automotive manufacturers. The meeting centered around the "Notice on Further Strengthening the Management of Intelligent Connected Vehicle Product Access, Recall, and Software OTA Upgrades," a joint issuance by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration for Market Regulation. The primary objective was to gather feedback and suggestions from automakers regarding the implementation of the notice's stipulations on product access and software OTA registration.

During the meeting, the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry elaborated on the core considerations for managing intelligent connected vehicle product access and software OTA upgrades. Emphasis was placed on the necessity for automotive manufacturers to thoroughly comprehend the contents of the "Notice," conduct comprehensive testing and validation of combined driving assistance systems, delineate system functional boundaries and safety response protocols, refrain from exaggerated or misleading promotions, rigorously fulfill their obligation to inform, and uphold responsibility for production consistency and quality safety. These measures are aimed at elevating the safety standards of intelligent connected vehicle products.
