Industry insiders reveal that Tesla has halted the export of Cybercab and Semi electric truck components from China to the United States, citing the significant increase in tariffs imposed by the U.S. on Chinese goods. Initially, when the Trump administration floated the possibility of a 34% tariff on Chinese imports, Tesla planned to absorb the additional costs. Nevertheless, the actual tariff rate has soared far beyond this initial threat, now standing at a staggering 145%, compelling Tesla to put its shipping plans on hold. This unexpectedly steep tariff hike poses a potential disruption to Tesla's plans for mass producing the Cybercab.
