On July 18, GAC Aion made an announcement, noting that it had recently received feedback from a number of AION S users. These users reported that their vehicles, having surpassed 150,000 kilometers in mileage, were experiencing power battery failures. GAC Aion places significant emphasis on this matter and, following preliminary investigations, discovered that the vehicles affected were all commercial vehicles outfitted with Calb's 177Ah lithium iron phosphate batteries. In light of this issue, GAC Aion has outlined three key measures:
Firstly, the warranty period for vehicles utilizing this particular battery model will be extended from the original 8 years/150,000 kilometers to an enhanced 8 years/300,000 kilometers.
Secondly, battery big data monitoring will be intensified. Users will be promptly notified in the event of any detected abnormalities, and they will be entitled to free inspection, repair, or battery pack replacement services at any of the national sales and service outlets.
Thirdly, for vehicle owners whose operations are disrupted due to battery repair or replacement, if the repair duration exceeds 5 days, subsidies will be provided in compliance with national regulations.
