On September 4, 2026, Fujifilm proudly announced the launch of its XF400mmF4.5 R LM OIS WR super telephoto prime lens, specifically tailored for X-series mirrorless digital cameras. This remarkable lens boasts a physical focal length of 400mm (equivalent to 609mm in the 35mm format), a maximum aperture of F4.5, and an impressive 5.5 stops of optical image stabilization. Despite its advanced features, it maintains a lightweight design, weighing approximately 1245 grams.

The lens incorporates an optical structure comprising 21 elements arranged in 14 groups, including 2 Super ED lens elements and 4 ED lens elements. This configuration effectively minimizes chromatic aberration, ensuring sharp and clear images. The aperture blades are crafted in a 9-blade circular design, providing a smooth and aesthetically pleasing bokeh effect. It offers a minimum focusing distance of 2.75 meters, a maximum magnification ratio of 0.16x, and a filter thread size of 95mm, catering to a wide range of photographic needs.

Built to withstand challenging environments, the lens body is both dust- and moisture-resistant, ensuring reliable performance even in temperatures as low as -10°C. The front lens element is coated with fluorine, offering anti-fouling and water-repellent properties, which makes it easier to clean and maintain. Autofocus is swift and nearly silent, thanks to an internal focusing system paired with a high-speed linear motor. Additionally, the lens features focus preset functionality, focus control buttons, and a focus limiter, enhancing the photographer's control and flexibility.

This versatile lens is also compatible with Fujifilm's XF1.4x and 2x teleconverters. When used with the XF1.4X TC WR, the focal length extends to 560mm (equivalent to 853mm in the 35mm format), while pairing it with the XF2X TC WR extends the focal length to 800mm (equivalent to 1219mm).
