Apple has officially rolled out the innovative ‘iPhone Handoff’ feature in iOS 27, a game-changer that allows two iPhones to operate under the same phone number and switch seamlessly between them. This feature made a brief appearance during the WWDC 2026 keynote.

Setting it up is straightforward. Users can designate one iPhone as the primary device and the other as the secondary through the ‘Cellular’ settings menu. The primary iPhone keeps the main eSIM, while the secondary iPhone gets a paired eSIM. All cellular network configurations are handled centrally by the primary device, and location sharing automatically follows whichever device is actively using the number.

To take advantage of this functionality, users will need two iOS 27-compatible devices and carrier support. Early reports suggest that T-Mobile in the U.S. and Deutsche Telekom in Germany are poised to be among the first carriers to offer this feature.
