Microsoft recently revealed that its design and research team constructed a full-scale model of an airplane cabin in Seattle to test the 'Audio Sharing' feature of Windows 11 in a real-world environment. This feature, based on Bluetooth LE Audio technology, enables two compatible devices to receive system audio simultaneously. During testing, twin users watched movies in sync via Surface Pro, verifying the reliability of the experience in complex environments. The test site was later repurposed as a set for short film production, offering a visual demonstration of the R&D process. Currently, the feature is compatible with new products such as the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Sony WF-1000XM6, with updates being gradually rolled out to compatible devices. This initiative is part of Microsoft's 2026 'K2' user experience improvement plan, aiming to drive feature iteration through real-world scenarios.
