As the July 22 Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event approaches, Samsung has officially kicked off promotion for its new generation Galaxy Watch, emphasizing it as a significant evolution in its smartwatch lineup. This upcoming wearable device will deeply integrate AI technology, aiming to become an all-day health monitoring hub in users' daily lives. It is reported that the Galaxy Watch 9 series will eliminate the rotating bezel Classic version, offering only 40/44mm aluminum standard editions, alongside the release of a professional outdoor model, the Watch Ultra 2. The new watch retains its classic squircle design, featuring improved screen resolution, optimized AOD (Always-On Display) power consumption, and boasting 5ATM, IP68, and military-grade protection. In terms of hardware, it is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, equipped with an NPU for on-device AI support. Some versions will support satellite communication, with a slightly increased battery capacity, delivering up to 45 hours of daily use on a single charge. Software-wise, it will run on One UI Watch 9, integrating Galaxy AI features to automatically generate exercise and sleep improvement plans, support real-time translation and message summarization, while retaining multi-spectral health sensors capable of monitoring over a hundred health metrics, including heart rate, ECG, blood oxygen, and antioxidant levels. The LTE version will support standalone calling and roaming.
