On April 25, 2026, UL Solutions officially released the standalone version of 3DMark for macOS, allowing users to directly download the installation package from the official website and complete authorization activation, eliminating reliance on the Apple App Store. Previously, 3DMark was only distributed through the App Store, which posed limitations in terms of authorization management, bulk deployment, and offline usage. This update addresses these issues, supporting both regular and enterprise-level authorizations for macOS. Users with existing authorizations can directly unlock all test items without the need for repurchasing. The newly added offline installation feature enables testers to complete localized deployment via USB drives, portable hard drives, or LAN-shared storage devices, enhancing applicability in network-free or closed testing environments. Currently, the macOS standalone version supports five benchmarking modules: Steel Nomad, Steel Nomad Light, Wild Life Extreme, Solar Bay, and Solar Bay Extreme, covering two core dimensions: non-ray-tracing high-load stress testing and ray-tracing-specific performance evaluation. This adjustment reflects industry trends: With the improved GPU performance of Apple Silicon chips and native adaptation of AAA-tier games to macOS, the Mac platform is transitioning from a supplementary role in graphics performance evaluation to a core testing arena alongside Windows. The release of this standalone version by UL Solutions signifies that macOS has been integrated into its global mainstream benchmarking platform system. Users with valid authorizations can log in to their accounts to download and install the latest macOS application.
