Apple’s newly launched, budget-conscious computer, the MacBook Neo, has made an immediate splash in the consumer market, with its inaugural batch of units selling out swiftly. In response, Apple is now rushing to place substantial follow-up orders with its key manufacturing partners, Foxconn and Quanta. Launched globally on March 11 and priced at an accessible $599 (starting at 4,599 yuan in China), the MacBook Neo has proven so popular that delivery timelines have been pushed back to May. In light of this strong demand, Apple has upwardly revised its sales projections for the MacBook Neo, from an initial 7 million units to an ambitious 10 million units. However, a constrained supply of the A18 Pro chip—a critical component of the MacBook Neo—has emerged as a significant bottleneck, limiting Apple’s ability to ramp up production to meet soaring consumer interest.
