Microsoft has initiated a 'comprehensive overhaul' strategy for Windows 11, transitioning from the conventional yearly major version upgrade approach to a monthly update system. This move is designed to tackle fundamental challenges like system sluggishness and involuntary updates within the current year. The initial set of enhancements has been deployed to Windows Insiders, encompassing: the capability to relocate the taskbar to the upper or lateral edges of the display; providing three size variations ('small', 'medium', 'large') to address the problem of excessively large taskbars on compact-screen gadgets; incorporating Windows update settings to diminish the occurrence of forced system reboots; enhancing the performance and reliability of File Explorer; minimizing the visibility of Copilot in built-in applications; and revamping the Feedback Hub. These updates will be progressively released through monthly 'Patch Tuesday' distributions or optional cumulative updates.
