In May, the global economic and trade friction index experienced a 37.8% decline from the previous month, yet it remains at an elevated level. The easing of global economic and trade friction measures, influenced by the suspension of certain tariff actions by the United States, has resulted in a 13% year-on-year decrease in the amount involved. Among the 20 monitored countries and regions, the European Union, India, and the United States rank highest in terms of the economic and trade friction index. Notably, the United States, with the largest volume of measures involved, has held the top spot for 11 consecutive months, serving as the primary factor behind the high level of the global economic and trade friction index.
