On September 28th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), along with seven other departments, jointly released the '15th Five-Year Plan' for the Development of the New Battery Industry. The plan outlines 19 key tasks, including accelerating innovation across the entire supply chain, promoting industrial upgrading, improving the industrial system, enhancing scientific and technological service capabilities, and elevating the level of trade and investment cooperation. The plan proposes that by 2030, China's new battery industry will experience steady growth, with significantly enhanced innovation capabilities across the entire supply chain. Breakthroughs will be achieved in the research and development of advanced materials and new battery systems, and the defect rates of products from leading companies will be reduced to the PPB (parts per billion) level. Meanwhile, the construction of an all-scenario application ecosystem will accelerate, fostering faster integration and innovation between battery technology, clean energy, and energy-consuming terminals. Additionally, the integration of international trade and investment will deepen, supporting the global transition to a green and low-carbon future.
