On September 22, 2026, Bambu Lab rolled out the R1, a consumer-grade CO₂ laser cutter boasting a robust 55W power output. This innovative device is equipped with an exclusive auto-optical path calibration function, streamlining the once cumbersome manual adjustment process. What previously required over ten minutes of meticulous tuning can now be accomplished with a single click, with calibration completed in as little as one minute.

The R1 is designed with dual functionality for both engraving and cutting. It incorporates a through-chamber feeding structure capable of accommodating materials up to 3 meters in length, thereby fulfilling a wide array of engraving and cutting requirements for various materials. This laser cutter can effortlessly slice through up to 18mm of black walnut plywood and 20mm of acrylic.

To ensure both processing precision and speed, the R1 is outfitted with a sophisticated triple positioning system. This system comprises dual cameras, dual height-measuring lasers, and dual encoders, all working in tandem with active vibration compensation technology. As a result, the R1 achieves an impressive maximum engraving speed of 1000mm/s and an acceleration of 20000mm/s².

Seamlessly integrating into Bambu Lab's existing ecosystem, the R1 leverages the same workflows and platforms, catering to a broad spectrum of users. Furthermore, Bambu Lab has successfully transferred its expertise from the 3D printing realm to laser processing, significantly lowering the barrier to entry for users venturing into this field.
