On July 9, DiDi, in partnership with the Chinese Red Cross Foundation, delivered the second batch of in-car AED (Automated External Defibrillator) devices to the Shaanxi Provincial Red Cross Society. This move follows DiDi’s prior collaboration with the Tencent Penguin First Aid Open Platform. Moving forward, urban 120 emergency systems will be able to swiftly dispatch nearby DiDi in-car AEDs, ensuring prompt emergency assistance for patients in need. Xi’an and Shenzhen have been chosen as the initial pilot cities for this initiative.

DiDi has seamlessly integrated data from in-car AEDs installed in its urban ride-hailing fleet with the Tencent Penguin First Aid Open Platform. In scenarios where the urban 120 system receives emergency calls related to cardiac arrest and requires AEDs along with first aid volunteers, the platform can now instantly match nearby DiDi in-car AEDs and dispatch rescue information to the drivers. The DiDi platform will then coordinate with drivers to facilitate their prompt arrival at the scene for rescue operations.
