Tencent Cloud Achieves Global Leadership in Valkey Community Contributions, Pioneers Support for Version 8.0 in China

On December 23, Tencent Cloud made a significant announcement: it has become the first entity in China to provide support for and release the open-source in-memory database Valkey version 8.0. The Valkey project, which is under the auspices of the Linux Foundation, has its roots in the Redis community. Its overarching goal is to establish an open-source in-memory database platform that is neutral with respect to vendors. Over the past two years, the Tencent Cloud database team has demonstrated remarkable dedication, submitting over 360 pull requests (PRs) to the Redis and Valkey communities, thereby securing the top spot globally in terms of contributions.
