On October 17, reports surfaced that the 10th Future Network Development Conference took place in Nanjing, Jiangsu, from October 15 to 17. At the conference, Wang Xiyu, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of ZTE, emphasized that the swift evolution of AI large models and computing clusters is fundamentally transforming business operations across data center environments, wide area networks, and space-air domains. In data centers, the trend of integrating optical devices more closely with electrical chips has emerged as a significant aspect of optical interconnection. The NPO (Network Processing Optimization) solution, with its benefits in terms of openness, cost-efficiency, and ease of maintenance, has emerged as the preferred choice for interconnection within nodes.

Wang Xiyu highlighted that ZTE's next-generation data center network NPO solution offers an improved approach for AI Fabric, steering the course of high-density bandwidth development. Shifting focus to space-air domains, satellite laser communication is extending networks from terrestrial to extraterrestrial realms. ZTE is actively pursuing commercial validation of onboard 100G/200G products, with 400G/800G core chips and optical devices also undergoing rigorous testing to address the long-term evolution requirements of onboard laser applications. From a product design perspective, the solution supports 'separable and combinable laser and routing' to cater to the diverse needs of different satellite platforms, paving the way for the gradual realization of high-value scenarios that seamlessly integrate space and ground operations.
