TSMC Steps Up the Pace: 1.4-Nanometer Factory Construction Accelerated, Mass Production Slated for Second Half of Next Year

On September 10th, news broke that TSMC is expediting the Phase II expansion of its 1.4-nanometer factory situated in the Central Taiwan Science Park. The inaugural factory (P1) is poised to initiate trial production in April of the coming year, with full-scale mass production earmarked for the latter half of 2027—a whole year earlier than initially projected. Citing anonymous insiders, TSMC plans to erect two makeshift office structures on the premises, both anticipated to reach completion concurrently in April of the upcoming year. In the initial phase, the site will accommodate more than 5,400 operational staff and outsourced personnel.
