On September 9, SK Hynix once again addressed reports concerning the "potential sale of a stake in its packaging plant located in Chongqing, China, with the transaction estimated to be worth around KRW 4 trillion (approximately USD 2.9 billion)." The company clarified that it is considering various strategies to bolster the competitiveness of its packaging operations, yet no concrete decisions have been made thus far. This response represents SK Hynix's second update on the issue, following its initial statement on August 10, a month prior. The company has pledged to release a separate announcement once a final decision is reached. In the event that no significant progress is made, it will provide another update within three months from this announcement, specifically by December 8.
