With the soaring demand for advanced memory solutions in the realms of artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and next-generation mobile devices, South Korean memory chip behemoth SK Hynix is expediting its shift to the sixth-generation 10-nanometer-class 1c DRAM process. The company is making substantial adjustments to its production capacity framework, with the intention of transitioning a greater number of DRAM products to the 1c process node for manufacturing. Insider sources from the industry reveal that SK Hynix's market share in 1c DRAM has been steadily climbing on a quarterly basis, escalating from roughly 10% in the first quarter of 2026 to 13% in the second quarter. Projections indicate that this share will further rise to 24% and 34% in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. By the first quarter of 2027, it is anticipated to hit 35%, overtaking the 1b process (which hovers around 33%) for the inaugural time and cementing its leading position.
