According to data published by the Bank of Korea on September 8, South Korea’s real GDP expanded by 0.6% quarter-on-quarter and 3.7% year-on-year in the second quarter, sustaining the growth momentum established with a 3.8% increase in the first quarter. This growth was primarily fueled by exports and investments related to artificial intelligence (AI). Specifically, exports rose by 1.4% quarter-on-quarter, with semiconductors, machinery, and equipment serving as the key driving forces.
