Samsung Electronics has achieved remarkable strides in the manufacturing of its 10-nanometer-class 6th-generation DRAM, known as '1c.' The yields for this product have now surpassed the 80% mark, signaling its entry into a phase of stable production. In the previous year's fourth quarter, the yield hovered between 60% and 70%, with projections indicating a potential rise to 90% by May. The impressive yield rate is set to substantially elevate semiconductor revenue. In recent times, DRAM prices have experienced an uptick, leading to a surge in operating profits. With yields now stabilized, Samsung is poised to further bolster its profit margins. Moreover, the yield for HBM4, which is built upon the 1c DRAM technology, has also witnessed an improvement, climbing from 50% in the last year's fourth quarter to nearly 60%. The 1c DRAM stands as a pivotal strategic product for Samsung, and the Vice President of the DS Division has taken a hands-on approach in supervising design enhancements. These efforts aim to fortify its core competitiveness and enhance its HBM capabilities.
