Early this morning, Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, took to the X platform to announce that, following the completion of the AI5 chip design, Tesla is set to rekindle its efforts on the supercomputer project, Dojo 3. Concurrently, he rolled out a job posting, asking applicants to succinctly describe, in three key points, the most challenging technical problem they've ever tackled. Previously, back in August 2025, Tesla had completely put the Dojo project on hold. At that juncture, Musk remarked that it was impractical for Tesla to spread its resources thin by working on two drastically different AI chip designs simultaneously. Instead, he emphasized that all energies should be channeled into the development of AI5, AI6, and subsequent chip iterations. The decision to revive the Dojo 3 project signifies Tesla's strategic pivot back to the AI computing power domain, aiming to furnish computational backing for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology and its humanoid robot, Optimus.
