On November 26th, reports emerged indicating that, owing to the surging global demand for AI chips, TSMC is considering the construction of three extra 2nm wafer fabrication plants in Taiwan. In reaction to these reports, TSMC clarified that any details concerning capacity investment would only be made public through official announcements. Presently, the company is in the process of getting multiple phases of 2nm wafer fabrication plants ready in the Hsinchu and Kaohsiung Science Parks. Additionally, it is ramping up production capacity for advanced processes, exemplified by the A14, in Taichung.
