On November 5, TSMC embarked on the pile foundation work for its brand-new 1.4-nanometer process wafer fabrication plant situated within the Central Taiwan Science Park. While there was no official groundbreaking ceremony to mark the occasion, the company has already rolled out subsequent tenders for the construction of the factory facilities. The overall investment in this ambitious project is projected to hit NT$1.5 trillion. Trial production, which will be contingent on risk assessments, is anticipated to wrap up by the end of 2027, paving the way for mass production to commence in 2028. It is estimated that the annual revenue generated from this facility will surpass NT$500 billion.
