Reports suggest that Samsung SDI, a prominent South Korean company, is currently engaged in negotiations with Tesla concerning the provision of ESS (Energy Storage System) batteries. The potential order value is estimated to surpass KRW 3 trillion (roughly equivalent to US$2.11 billion). Due to recent modifications in U.S. subsidy policies, South Korean battery producers are now expediting the transition of their electric vehicle battery manufacturing lines towards the production of energy storage systems.
